London, Ladbroke Grove
Situated within a Victorian residence in Notting Hill, this London apartment was reimagined as Tala Fustok’s own forever home. The project explores the relationship between heritage architecture and contemporary living, balancing the building’s original character with a series of thoughtful modern interventions.

Once a dark basement apartment, the home has been transformed into a light-filled, double-height sanctuary. Original bay windows and period details were preserved, while the rear of the property was opened up to create a fluid living space. Exposed steel beams introduce a contemporary architectural language, establishing a dialogue between the home’s Victorian shell and its modern core.
Throughout the apartment, rich textures and carefully considered materials create depth and atmosphere. Fantastico Arni Verde marble, polished concrete floors, timber joinery and velvet-lined walls combine to form interiors that feel both refined and deeply personal. A monumental 18th-century French painting anchors the living space, setting the tone for a home shaped by art and craftsmanship.
Antique furnishings sit comfortably alongside bespoke contemporary pieces, while fabric-panelled bedrooms, brass detailing and curated decorative elements bring character to every room. Designed to evolve over time, the apartment reflects Tala Fustok Studio’s approach to residential interior design in London, creating spaces that honour the past while embracing modern life.
